Accessibility Notes
Collections Manager is built with accessibility as a core priority. All keyboard shortcuts are designed to work seamlessly with assistive technologies.
Screen Reader Compatibility
- All interactive elements have descriptive
aria-labelattributes for screen readers. - Dynamic content changes (such as notifications and search results) are announced through ARIA live regions.
- Modal dialogs correctly trap focus and return focus to the triggering element when closed.
- Landmark roles (
banner, main, contentinfo, navigation) are used to identify major page sections.
Reduced Motion Support
If you have enabled "Reduce motion" in your operating system settings, Collections Manager automatically disables non-essential animations and transitions. This affects:
- Page transition animations
- Card hover effects and scaling
- Notification slide-in animations
- Loading spinner animations (replaced with a static indicator)
Tip: On Windows, you can enable reduced motion in Settings > Accessibility > Visual effects > Animation effects. On macOS, go to System Settings > Accessibility > Display > Reduce motion.
Focus Visibility
All focusable elements display a clearly visible focus indicator (a blue ring) when navigated via keyboard. This helps you always know which element is currently active. The focus indicator is suppressed for mouse clicks to avoid visual clutter, but always appears for keyboard navigation.
Skip Navigation
A "Skip to main content" link appears as the first focusable element on every page. Press Tab when the page first loads to reveal it, then press Enter to skip past the header and navigation directly to the main content area.
